Weil Farms is a small family owned business located in Fishers Island, NY, North Stonington, CT, and Punta Gorda, FL. Our honey bees work year round to stay healthy and happy, producing the finest honey in the world. In the winter, we send our bees up to Florida, where they pollinate the orange groves, saw palmetto palms, gallberry plants, tupelo trees, wild mangroves, and brazilian pepper bushes, as well as local fruits and vegetables. In early spring our honey bees return to New England to pollinate local fruit orchards, organic vegetable farms, and wild flowers all over Connecticut and Fishers Island, New York.
All of our honey, royal jelly, bee pollen, bee propolis, and maple syrup products are raw, and organic. Our honey is never heated and is filtered only through cheese cloth so you get a great honey that has a fresh just-out-of-the-comb taste. If liquid honey crystallizes (turns solid), which happens to all honey that has been stored for a long time, place it in a pan of warm water until the honey is liquid again. Honey should be stored in a warm place.

From our beginnings the value of our lives relies heavily on the small things that are a part of them. The simple beauty of daily life in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains became the influence that ultimately led Bob Stevens to a love of beekeeping.
In 1973 Bob and his wife Margaret decided to learn about beekeeping to enhance their backyard vegetable and flower gardens. The hobby became a passion; the passion by 1979 gave rise to Betterbee. Their experiences with beehives led them to understand that beekeeping increases the quality of all our lives by helping us pay attention to the small things.
On the family farm in Greenwich, NY, they founded a company based on the premise that anyone can be a part of beekeeping – whether one keeps beehives, crafts items from beeswax or honey, or buys their honey in a local market.
Today, as the company grows, it’s been more than just our slogan – it’s our promise to you. Whether you’re just starting out or have been keeping bees for years, we are your partners in better beekeeping.
