Weil Farms is located in Punta Gorda, FL, North Stonington CT, Fishers Island, NY. Our honey bees work year round to stay healthy and happy, producing the finest honey in the world. In the winter, we send our bees up to Florida, where they pollinate the orange groves, saw palmetto palms, gallberry plants, tupelo trees, wild mangroves, and brazilian pepper bushes, as well as local fruits and vegetables. In early spring our honey bees return to New England to pollinate local fruit orchards, organic vegetable farms, and wild flowers all over Connecticut and Fishers Island, New York. All of our honey, royal jelly, bee pollen and maple syrup products are natural, and many are raw and organic.

My beekeeping business began with eight hives in 1989. By June 1996 I had grown to a commercial size operation, so I decided to commit to keeping bees full time. Today we produce one of the most famous honeys in the world. Tupelo Honey is well known for its distinctive, delicious and delicate flavor. Our honey is produced from the white (ogechee) Tupelo trees that grow profusely in the Apalachicola river basin, an area well known for its high quality Tupelo Honey.

In May 2005 the book “Robbing The Bees” written by Holly Bishop and, published by Simon & Schuster. Hit the book store shelves. This book is a profile of my beekeeping business and ,covered all the aspects of my day to day life as a Florida Tupelo Honey beekeeper. Robbing The Bees” helped to make the name Smiley Apiaries synonymous with Tupelo Honey.
